$4.85 Million Federal Contract Awarded to Flir Systems


Congratulations go out to Wilsonville based Flir Systems Inc. The company has won a $4,849,300 federal contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J., for emitted and reflected radiation night vision equipment. (WASHINGTON DC, Dec. 28, 2010)


FLIR Systems is a thermal imaging (infrared) systems manufacturer based in Wilsonville, Oregon. Founded in 1978, the company makes thermal imagers, thermal imager components, as well as larger systems containing thermal imagers along with other sensors, for both commercial and military applications.


Flir is The World Leader in the Design, Manufacture and Marketing of Thermal Imaging Infrared Cameras.


In 2010 FLIR Systems Completed two major Acquisitions.

The first was a $180 million transaction to take over Raymarine, a world leader in the marine electronics industry. And later on in the year FLIR acquired ICx Technologies for $268 Million. ICx is a leading provider of integrated advanced sensing technologies for homeland security, force protection and critical infrastructure applications.
